GREENCARD Construction Induction (WorkCover accredited)
Course Description - This course is aimed at all new workers carrying out construction work. It covers basic principles of health and safety in the construction industry, preventing workplace injury and illness, workplace injury management and workers compensation.

- OH&S responsibilities at the workplace
- Outline of responsibilities of supervisors
- Consultation at the workplace
- Health and safety information at the workplace
- Identifying safety signs
- The function of work method statements
- Principles of risk management
- Reporting mechanisms for unsafe conditions and accidents/incidents
- Role and function of health and safety committees
- Emergencies and first-aid requirements
- Workers compensation and injury management
- Overview of common industry hazards including at least the following:
Manual handling, Hazardous substances, Noise, Operation of plan, UV radiation, HIV and blood borne infection, electrical work, Working near traffic, Working at heights, Hazards associated with drugs and alcohol, Personal protective equipment
