OHS Consultation (WorkCover accredited)
Course Description - Participants will acquire information, skills and confidence to ensure that the workplace will have a voice, through the committee and OHS Representatives, towards developing an effective workplace health and safety system.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
This course is designed to encompass the following:
- Workplace health & safety
- The role of OHS consultation in the workplace
- Effective OHS consultation in the workplace
- Systematic management of health & safety
- Action learning exercise
- Continuous improvement of OHS systems
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the importance of effective management of health & safety
- Define & describe the roles of employers , employees, OHS committees, representatives & WorkCover inspectors under OHS legislation
- Describe and demonstrate effective communication of OHS information, critical thinking and conflict resolution
- Discuss and develop OHS policies and risk management processes
- Conduct hazard identification & outline appropriate control measures
- Explain effective consultative arrangements, responsibilities of OHS committees and representatives, risk management and OHS learning
